The 2015 Whitley County Fair Open Checkers Tournament will be held in Williamsburg, KY on July 18th. 

Registration for Go-As-You- Please play will begin at 9AM and the tournament is expected to last about 6 hours,

depending on the number of players.  No entry fee and trophies for the top 4 places.  There will be a youth

match at the same time.  Free Checkers Pouch for every player and a few door prizes.  Take exit 11 or 15 off

of I-75 and follow the signs to 3-R Arena on Watts Creek Road.  Call Shelby Mays 606-521-2237 if you need

 2015 Whitley County Fair Open Checker Tournament Results 

 

The 2015 Whitley County Fair Open Checker Tournament was held in Williamsburg, KY on July 18th in conjunction with the Whitley County Fair.

They had 3 players in their adult group who competed as: Jerry Atkins, Shelby Mays, and Darlene Jones.  Jerry placed 1st, Shelby 2nd, and Darlene took 3rd place.  This is Shelby Mays' 4th year as the Whitley County Fair Checker Champion.

They had 12 children to compete in their children group.  All the children received nice gifts from various local merchants and free meal coupons from several restaurants.  The tournament sponsor, Shelby Mays gave all participating children a checkerboard and checker set and the top finishers also received trophies.
